If the buyer has calculated requirements for cell size, foil thickness, density or cell direction, place those values on the drawing and name the calculation or approval basis. If those variables have not been designed, ask the supplier to state the proposed construction in the quote and submit a sample for approval. Avoid converting an unverified rule of thumb into a project requirement.
List finished length, width and total thickness in one unit system. Add tolerances for dimensions that affect installation rather than writing only “high precision.” For framed or modular work, identify the joint width, reference edges and any cumulative dimension that can create alignment problems across several panels.
A drawing is essential when a panel includes holes, slots, notches, cutouts, curved edges or folded returns.
