When requesting a quotation, state clearly whether the dimensions refer to the original full sheet, a cut panel or the final finished blank.

A4 measures 210 × 297 mm, while A3 measures 297 × 420 mm. These format names are useful when discussing a project, but a bulk purchase order should still show the required finished dimensions and any tolerance, corner or hole requirements.

Inch-based sizes such as 5 × 7, 6 × 8, 8 × 10, 8 × 12, 11 × 14, 11 × 17, 12 × 18 and 12 × 24 inches can also be quoted as cut-to-size specifications subject to production confirmation.
For custom blanks, specify the finished length and width rather than relying only on a general format name.
Rectangle and square blanks are among the most flexible formats for sublimation printing. They are commonly used for metal photo panels, wall art, advertising signs, certificates, product displays, nameplates, awards and personalized printing products.
These blanks can be supplied with square corners or processed further according to the final product drawing.
For repeat orders, the purchase specification should define the finished length, width, thickness, surface finish and quantity for each part number. If the design must fit a frame, fixture or mounting system, the required finished dimensions should be shown on the approved drawing.
Rounded corners give the blank a more finished appearance and reduce exposed sharp corners during handling. They are commonly selected for photo panels, desk plates, wall decoration, awards, signs and promotional products.
A description such as “A4 rounded-corner blank” is not complete enough for controlled bulk production. The RFQ should state the finished length and width together with the required corner radius.
Do not assume that every rounded-corner project uses the same radius. If appearance or fit is important, define the radius on a drawing or confirm it against an approved sample.

Round aluminum sublimation blanks are commonly used for clocks, coasters, ornaments, awards, decorative pieces, circular signs and personalized photo products.
Round blanks should be specified by finished diameter rather than by length × width. Thickness, surface finish, protective film and packing requirements should also be confirmed.

Pre-drilled holes can reduce downstream fabrication when the finished product needs to be mounted, fixed or hung after printing.
Holes can be added to rectangular, square, rounded-corner or round sublimation blanks. To avoid ambiguity, the drawing or RFQ should specify:
Hole diameter.
Number of holes.
Hole center location.
Distance from the hole center to the relevant edge.
Orientation of the blank.
Any relationship between the hole pattern and the printed design or mounting system.
“Two holes at the top” is usually not precise enough for repeat production. A dimensioned drawing gives the supplier, purchasing team and receiving-inspection team the same reference.
Not every sublimation product is rectangular or circular. OEM programs may require custom outlines, slots, special corner geometry or combinations of several fabrication features.

A 0.45 mm blank is a lightweight option frequently selected for smaller and medium-sized products where a thin profile and easy handling are important. A 0.65 mm blank provides additional rigidity for many photo panels, signs and general-purpose sublimation products. A 1.0 mm blank offers greater stiffness and may be preferred for larger pieces or products that require a more substantial metal feel.
Thickness should not be selected according to printing quality alone. A smaller blank does not automatically require the thinnest material, and a larger blank does not automatically require a specific thickness. The complete finished-product requirement should determine the specification.
Size and shape are only part of the blank specification. Worthwill supplies high glossy white, matte white, pearl, brushed, satin, titanium and mirror surface options for sublimation aluminum.
The selected finish affects the visual appearance of the unprinted blank and the way the finished image is perceived. For brushed and other directional surfaces, grain direction should be confirmed before cutting so blanks within the same project have a consistent orientation.
For appearance-critical orders, approving both an unprinted surface sample and a printed test sample can provide a clearer reference for repeat production.
The final product normally provides the best starting point for choosing a blank.
